Teatro scientifico Bibiena – Mantova

The project was made by Antonio Galli Bibiena from Parma, commissioned by Count Carlo Ottavio di Colloredo, rector of the Accademia dei Timidi, and was built between 1767 and 1769. Completed on 3 December 1769, it was officially inaugurated: just over a month later, the young Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who was only fourteen at the time, held a concert there. Thanks to the genius of the architect Bibiena, the Teatro Scientifico is considered the most complete example of rococo-style theatre architecture; musical reviews, concerts and conferences are still held there today.
